We are delighted to welcome Dianne Brown (Ngāti Porou) as Programme Manager to lead the implementation of our Whenua Ora programme across Wakatū Group.

Whenua Ora aims to ensure we understand what it means to be good kaitiaki of our whenua and water – and how we can ensure that all of our activities across our organisation achieve this.  The focus for the first year of the programme is water, waste, soil and climate change.

Dianne is passionate about sustainability and has been working for Wakatū on secondment from Te Ohu Kaimoana since October 2018.

Before coming to Wakatū, Dianne worked in various roles at Te Ohu Kaimoana since 2005 including managing the allocation and transfer work programme, the fisheries and aquaculture team and Te Wai Māori Trust.

Prior to joining Te Ohu Kaimoana, Dianne worked for Ngāti Tama (Te Tauihu) managing Tama Fishing Company, and assisting Hilary and John Mitchell with the coordination of the Treaty of Waitangi Claim. She was also a Director on Ngāti Tama’s asset holding company and management company between 2009 – 2016.
