Kaupapa Tupuranga is a programme designed for whānau who whakapapa to Wakatū. Kaupapa Tupuranga aims to connect, grow and develop our whānau on our whenua. The current programme has an emphasis on working and learning in a horticulture and agriculture setting with a te ao Māori lens.
As well as working on our whenua, whānau on the Tupuranga programme will be supported to build individual development plans, including goal setting and strength finding. Whānau on the programme will have a significant role in our indigenous food crops pilot.
We started Kaupapa Tupuranga in November 2020 with a small group based in Motueka, with the programme running through to May 2021.
Whānau on Kaupapa Tupuranga will be employed on a fixed term contract. There will be an option for accommodation in Motueka if needed.
If you have a whakapapa connection to Wakatū and are interested in being part of Kaupapa Tupuranga contact Hōani Tākao Hoani.Takao@wakatu.org or on 021 489 280 to find out more.
