We have received a very positive response to our request that people RSVP for our special general meeting, being held at 9:00am next Saturday, 18 June at Te Papa Tongarewa in Te Whanganui a tara (Wellington). We asked for RSVPs so we could plan for the hui, and ensure that the numbers attending will be within the venue’s capacity.

We have now reached our capacity for the hui, at 450 attendees and due to venue restrictions – we are unable to extend past this number.

If you have RSVP’d for the SGM, but find you are no longer able to attend, or the number attending with you has changed, please let us know by contacting Tina Thompson via email at: info@wakatu.org or by calling (03) 546 8648.

Special General Meeting waitlist

We currently have a number of whānau on our waitlist for the Special General Meeting. If spaces open due to other whānau no longer being able to attend, we will be in touch with those on our waiting list to advise.

Please be aware that we will only be able to advise whānau over the course of the next week if there are cancellations, and for those needing to arrange travel – it is unlikely this would provide you with much notice to make travel plans.

If you wish to be added to the waitlist, please click below.

Further information for attendees

On the day of the SGM, please come to the main entrance of Te Papa (55 Cable Street, Te Aro) and you will be directed to the meeting room.

It is a requirement of Te Papa that you wear a mask inside the building when you are travelling to and from the meeting room.

Our hui will commence at 9:00am and will conclude with a hākari lunch for attendees at 1:00pm.

As with previous Wakatū hui, the hākari lunch is only for those who have attended the SGM.

Covid-19 – our protocols for staying safe and well

At the time of writing, Aotearoa is at Orange in the COVID-19 protection framework.

As we have seen throughout the last two years, COVID-19 levels and restrictions on public gatherings can change at very short notice. To keep up to date with any notifications and changes, please check our website www.wakatu.org and our Facebook page.

We ask that if you have felt unwell in the two days before the SGM, if you feel unwell on the day of the SGM, or if you or your whānau have tested positive for COVID-19 in the seven days before the SGM, please do not come to the SGM.

The usual COVID-19 protocols – frequent hand-washing, and cough and sneezing etiquette will apply.

Discounted parking at Te Papa

Te Papa is offering those who are coming to the SGM a discounted parking rate. You will need to have your parking ticket validated in order to receive the special rate. A car parking validator machine will be at the Wakatū registration desk.
